Top 20 Finish for McDowell at Bristol

(BRISTOL, TENNESSEE) August 23, 2010 – After a struggle at Bristol in the spring race, Michael McDowell and the team were a little nervous heading into Friday night’s Food City 250.  Practicing in the top 15 of the 50 cars entered eased that a bit heading into go-or-go-home qualifying.

The pressure was on being the last driver to take time in the “World’s Fastest Half-Mile” and Michael delivered with a great lap, putting him 15th on the grid for the 250 lap race.  Michael ran strong all day, consistently in the top twenty and kept his Camrett Logistics Dodge spotless for all 250 laps.  After a stint in the top-ten, Michael brought the car home on the lead lap, and in 20th position.

After the race, Michael was very happy with the progress the team has made over the past few weeks.  His MacDonald Motorsports Dodge has finished in the top twenty, four of the last five races.

The team will head north of the border this weekend for NASCAR’s only race in Canada all season.  The NAPA Auto Parts 200 will take place in Montreal, Quebec Sunday, August 29th at 2:00 p.m. on ESPN 2.
