The MacDonald family name has been in the racing circles since owner, Randy MacDonald, started his own driving career in the 1980’s.  Moving towards the future, MacDonald Motorsports now offers top quality equipment for young drivers to move their way up the ranks of racing from the K&N Pro Series to the NASCAR Nationwide Series.  The MacDonald Motorsports No. 81 has been a mainstay in the NASCAR Nationwide Series garage for many years and continues to strive for success in racing while bringing more people to the lord Jesus Christ.

ABOUT RANDY MACDONALD

Randy MacDonald is an Oshawa, Ontario native with a passion for racing. Since he began driving his go-kart at the age of three, Randy's desire to succeed in professional motorsports has been continually growing. He began his racing career running races on the local short tracks of Ontario and worked his way up from there, earning Rookie of the Year Honors on the NASCAR North Tour (1985) and in the GM/Players Challenge Series (1987). MacDonald went on to compete in the GM National Stock Car Series, the highest lever of stock car racing in Canada at the time. He won the GM National Stock Car Series championship in 1990. This championship paved the way for MacDonald to fulfill his dream of racing stock cars in the United States. He competed in the ASA Challenge Series, earning 1993 Rookie of the Year Honors. MacDonald made his first NASCAR Cup Series Start in 1994 at North Carolina Speedway. MacDonald has since competed in several Cup and Busch series races and spent three full seasons in the Craftsman Truck Series. He has competed with some of the finest drivers of all time, including Mark Martin, Rusty Wallace, and the late Dale Earnhardt. Randy finished in the top 20 in final standings of each of his three full seasons in the Truck Series, most recently finishing 15th in 2003. Due in large part to neck injuries sustained at Daytona in 2001, Randy has recently cut back on driving to focus on a new chapter of his racing career: team ownership. MacDonald is continually searching for talented young stock car drivers that share his passion for racing and success. As owner of MacDonald Motorsports, Randy is responsible for the day to day running of the team, securing sponsorship and ultimately guiding his team to a winning position in the highly competitive NASCAR Nationwide Series.
